Here we go again!
It's the 10th episode, yippee!
We are now ten months old. Feels so surreal that we made it this far with all the uncertainties and having to learn on the job, settle into a new country and space, and adjust to a new environment as a whole. It's been a fantastic experience, which is why I will always have something to rant about.
Nobody told me about the clingy stage. Why was I not informed?!
I've always lived alone but not as alone as this. I had relatives, neighbours, and friends who were always willing to help with my baby regardless of their situation. Finding myself here and barely even knowing my next-door neighbor will take some getting used to.
Don't get me wrong, people here are very nice and sweet, especially when we go out, and they all just want to acknowledge the beautiful happy baby smiling at them with lots of "she's so lovely," "omg, she's gorgeous," and plenty compliments. But, back in Nigeria, my friends always came around.
My sisters, colleagues at work, a whole community to help with the baby even my next-door neighbour used to come to check on us regularly just to be sure I was doing fine.
That's not what this rant is about, though. I will get used to it eventually, but what baffles me is how your fave chose this time to be clingy.
Omg! She's so clingy lately. I'm trying to understand that she's also adjusting to a new environment, not seeing the faces she's used to. Thank God for Daddy, though; he's the best. We switch roles when we can and just figure things out as they come. Man, I kid you not; it hasn't been easy, but it'd get better, as they say.
I'm looking forward to when I will come back here to say, "I made it out of this phase." I haven't even mentioned how we actually go to the toilet together. I wait until Daddy is around before having my shower because I can't leave for a second without her screaming bloody murder.
I have to hold her in my arms while doing any chores because nobody is coming to rescue us. But if I'm enjoying anything about this phase, it would be that my ten-month-old is now exploring food with her taste buds. I mean, she's started eating a whole range of healthy food that she used to refuse back in our home country.
I will have to dedicate a whole episode to that, as I now feel comfortable sharing, but we'll stop here for now.
To all our readers that checked in on us during this period, thank you sooooo much. We are still very much in the writing business. Not even relocation will take that away.
Thank you for always coming back.
See you in the next episode! XOXO♡
